The 3M™ Scotch Super 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape is a black, 7mm thick premium insulating tape designed to withstand all types of weather (including sunny conditions with high UV light) and capable of performing well in both cold and hot temperatures ranging from -18°C to 105°C. This must-have insulation tape is based on PVC coated with a rubber, pressure-sensitive adhesive backing. Resistant to abrasion, acids, alkalies, moisture, or corrosion this all rounder tape is a must have.
The 3M™ 33+ Insulation tape is made with primary electrical uses in mind, it can insulate all wire and cables that have been spliced and pass a charge of up to 600 volts and reach a temperature up to 105°C. This tape will perform well with primary electrical insulation when working with 600-volt bus applications, as well as when adding protective jacketing for any low and high voltage buses. We recommend using this electrical tape for wire and cable harnessing and when creating protective jacketing during repairs on when making high voltage cable splices.
For best results, make sure to follow 3M™ 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape instructions. We recommend that the insulation tape is always applied using a half-layer technique with plenty of tension to make sure that a protective seal is formed. When insulating pigtail splices, always wrap the vinyl tape beyond the end of the wires, following this by folding the tape back to ensure that there is a protective cushion securing the wrap which will resist cut-through. Always wrap the tape the upwards direction starting at the smallest diameter of the surface and gradually moving to the largest diameter surface. To prevent flagging, do not add any tension to the tape when applying the last wrap.
This tape is available in several colours.
