3M™ VHB™ Glass & Clear Bonding Tapes

3M™ 4905 VHB™ Acrylic Foam Tape is ideal for transparent materials or wherever a clear bond is needed. 4905 VHB tape effectively replaces screws, rivets and studs when bonding materials, resulting in a permanent hold and clean appearance.

3M™ 4910 VHB Acrylic Foam Tape is ideal for joining transparent material as the adhesive formula bonds and seals on contact with no drying time. We recommend this tape for applications that require a virtually invisible fastening tape to ensure that surfaces are kept uniform and smooth.

3M™ 4915 VHB™ Acrylic Foam Tape spreads stress load across the length of the joint, and the high dynamic stress absorption qualities help in reducing vibration and impact stress.

3M™ 4918 VHB™ Acrylic Foam Tape has somewhat lower peel, tensile and shear performance than most other VHB tapes, due to its inherent softness.

Bond strength of your 3M™ VHB™ is dependent upon the amount of adhesive-to-surface contact developed. For the best bond possible always press down firmly during application and apply even pressure across the tape and surface.

To achieve excellent adhesion all surfaces should be prepped and cleaned properly to ensure there are no dirt, dust, or oil particles remaining that could obstruct the adhesive bond. We recommend using an isopropyl alcohol and water mixture or a heptane-based solvent to clean surfaces before application.

In some cases, a more permanent bond can be created by exposing the surface and adhesive tape to an elevated temperature which will activate the adhesive more. When using this method ensure that the temperature does not reach more than 65°C and is not left at this temperature for more than an hour.
