3M™ 434 Vibration Damping Tape

The 3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 434 is an excellent noise reducing, low temperature tape. Using modern technology, this tape is composed of 3M™ Viscoelastic Damping Polymers which are coated by 0.14mm of dead soft aluminium foil as a constraining layer. This combination of 3M™ viscoelastic polymers along with a soft aluminium layer is a unique composition which allows the tape to damp vibrations in temperatures ranging from -60°C to 20°C.

The 3M™ 434 tape is lined with a blue polyethylene to protect and enhance. When applying, for best results we recommend that pressure is applied as this is a pressure tape sensitive much like acrylic adhesive tapes.

Common uses for the 3M™ Vibration Damping Tape are in lower temperature environments where tape resistance to cold is paramount such as in aerospace or industrial environments and applications. Thanks to noise reducing technology, this tape will perform well in protecting metal panels and structures that might vibrate. Other uses include lining bins, metal boxes, chutes, metal materials, and conveyors, as well as any other material that might cause unwanted vibration when struck.
