3M™ Double Coated PVC Tape 9087
If you’re searching for a tape that can bond aggressively to practically any surface, the 3M™ Double Coated PVC Tape 9087 is the high-performance adhesive you need. This 270um thick, double-sided tape uses 3M™ High Performance Adhesive 375, a modified acrylic adhesive, that has been applied to both sides of a durable polyvinyl chloride carrier, offering a high level of adhesion in a fast and mess-free application.
It’s likely this multi-functional adhesive will become your go-to double sided tape. Not only does it have a high adhesive peel (meaning the tape is easy to remove from its backing material), it can also be used for bonding practically all high and low surface energy materials. It will stick to most rough and smooth surfaces, including stainless steel, glass, polycarbonate, thermoplastic polymers such as high-density polyethylene and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, as well as paper.
Once applied, you can expect this double-sided adhesive to provide a strong and immediate bond thanks to its high initial tack. High shear performance also means that it should remain bonded indefinitely, even under a constant load. For the highest performance using this tape, we recommend applying it at ambient conditions of between 21°C and 38°C and waiting 72 hours for the adhesive to reach full strength.
Solvent and UV resistant, this adhesive tape is high strength and durable and will continue to work up to temperatures of 70°C. At 270um thickness, it’s a thicker, more robust version of the 3M™ 9078 double sided tape. It is white in colour.
We recommend using this product within 24 months of manufacture and, to ensure durable adhesion, storing it 21°C and 50% relative humidity.
